The State Children’s Drama festival 2014 co-organized by the Department of Cultural Affairs and the Panel of Drama of the Sri Lanka Arts Council under the instructions of the Ministry of Culture and the Arts will commence at the New Town Hall Colombo 07 at 5.00 pm today (15).
Four dramas scheduled to be staged this evening. They are “Ada wage Dawasak” by the Good Shepherd Convent of Colombo 13, “Uri kaliteyi anbu wayippom” by the Vinayargakuram Maha Viddyalaya of Kalmunei, “A good Friend” by the Embilipitiya President’s College of Embilipitiya and “Akuru Buruwa” by D.K.Atigalle.
The drama Festival consists of trilingual children’s dramas and the final round would consist of 30 dramas from the limited category and 18 from the open category.
The festival would continue till September 30 starting from 5.00 pm daily at the New Town Hall.
The Department of Cultural Affairs has invited all school children and the general public to be viewed the dramas to be staged for the State Children’s Drama Festival free of charge.
